Turkish Baklava Latte with Walnut Syrup

WALNUT SYRUP

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/4 cup walnuts (15-20g)

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the sugar and water until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  2. Drop the heat to low and add the walnuts. Lightly simmer for 3 minutes and remove from heat.

  3. Let cool and transfer to a container.

COLD FOAM

In a small cup, froth 2 tbsp of heavy cream until fluffy-but-pourable; not thick enough to be whipped cream. Optional: Add 1-2 tsp powdered sugar/sweetener as well.

TURKISH BAKLAVA LATTE

  • 1 cup of ice

  • 6 oz whole milk

  • double shot espresso

  • 1 tbsp walnut syrup

  • cold foam

  • 1 tbsp pistachios, crushed (for garnish)
