Turkish Baklava Latte with Walnut Syrup
WALNUT SYRUP
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup walnuts (15-20g)
In a small saucepan, heat the sugar and water until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Drop the heat to low and add the walnuts. Lightly simmer for 3 minutes and remove from heat.
Let cool and transfer to a container.
COLD FOAM
In a small cup, froth 2 tbsp of heavy cream until fluffy-but-pourable; not thick enough to be whipped cream. Optional: Add 1-2 tsp powdered sugar/sweetener as well.
TURKISH BAKLAVA LATTE
1 cup of ice
6 oz whole milk
double shot espresso
1 tbsp walnut syrup
cold foam
1 tbsp pistachios, crushed (for garnish)
